Guingamp Defeats Grenoble 2-0 in Last Game of the Season at Stade des Alpes

Driven by a very lively Stade des Alpes, our Grenoble team tried everything but finally lost to Guingamp (0-2).

For its last outing of the season, the GF38 was keen to finish well in front of its home crowd at the Stade des Alpes. A first thrill ran through the spans of Isère when Amine Sbaï’s cross flirted with the goal line of Basilio (4th). On the other side of the field and following a long ball, Livolant served El Ouazzani in the axis which finished to open the scoring (0-1, 12e). Then, on a new action led by the tandem Livolant – El Ouazzani, the latter received the ball at the entrance to the surface but his shot flew over the frame (20th). Grenoble reacted: Pape Meïssa Ba took the depth and obtained a penalty. Amine Sbaï took care of it, but lost his duel against the Guingamp goalkeeper (25th). Six minutes later, a nice movement between Matthias Phaëton, Pape Meïssa Ba and Sbaï allowed the latter to arm his shot, but Basilio intervened again (31st). After 45 minutes of a first rhythmic act, Guingamp led by one goal when returning to the locker room (45th). On the first real chance of the second period, Livolant tumbled down the left side and crossed towards Guillaume who doubled the lead (0-2, 56e). The GF38 tried to respond instantly: Amine Sbaï went alone in front of goal and opened his foot well, but Basilio won again (57th). Our Grenoble residents continued to push to get back into the game, and Okardi was close to reducing the mark after good work from Phaëton (65th). A breakthrough from Guingamp allowed Merghem to present himself against Brice Maubleu, but our captain made a superb double save (87th). Our Alpines finally lost to Guingamp (0-2).
