Guinea stands out at China-Africa summit on digital cooperation

Represented by Mrs. Rose Pola PRICEMOU, Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy, Guinea actively participated in the China-Africa Summit on Digital Cooperation in Beijing. This event, focused on strengthening relations between China and African countries, highlighted opportunities for collaboration in the digital field.

Surrounded by her team, Minister Rose Pola PRICEMOU took advantage of this platform to promote Guinea’s digital vision, a booming sector supported by the President of the Republic, Mamadi Doumbouya. Her speech highlighted the benefits of investing in Guinea, where digital technology is seen as a driver of socio-economic development.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Minister held several bilateral meetings, including with Mr. Zhang Yunming, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology of China, to discuss cooperation in digital infrastructure, technological innovation and the development of 5G. She also discussed regional interconnection projects with the Minister of Communication of Sierra Leone.

Potential partnerships were also explored with digital giants such as Alibaba, Tencent and HMN TECH, highlighting Guinea’s commitment to strengthening its international relations for an inclusive digital ecosystem.

The Minister visited the Chinese State Information Center and Huawei headquarters in Beijing, where she discussed the role of these institutions in digital transformation. During a roundtable on the development of 5G hosted by Huawei, she shared Guinea’s vision for this technology, highlighting its potential to revolutionize education and health in Africa.

Mrs. Rose Pola PRICEMOU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei Technologies Guinea SAU in the presence of Mr. Wind Li, Vice President of Huawei. This strategic partnership marks an important step in the implementation of the digital transformation strategy of the Republic of Guinea.

This cooperation aims to accelerate the development of robust and innovative digital infrastructures in order to promote widespread accessibility to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

Guinea’s participation in this summit demonstrates its commitment to developing a robust and innovative digital ecosystem.
