The poet, writer, translator and vice president of the League of Bulgarian Writers in the USA and around the world Ludmila Kaloyanova will present her new book “American Triptych” in Sozopol tomorrow, September 2. This became clear from a Facebook event published on the author’s profile.
The meeting with her will take place at 19:00 at the Michelle Art Club in Sozopol.
An invitation to the event was sent by the League of Bulgarian Writers in the USA and around the world and “Janet 45” publishing house.
“American Triptych” is a book about the unhealed wounds within us and the possible or impossible redemption. A story of guilt and repentance, of identity lost and found, told against the background of the fate of three generations of immigrants in America. A novel in which the search for the Black Madonna – an icon that disappeared more than a century ago from a small town on the Black Sea – becomes a poignant account of the touching power of love and mutual forgiveness, the book’s summary says.
Lyudmila Kaloyanova is a poet and writer, doctor of philological sciences (University of Pittsburgh). Since 1990 he lives in the USA. One of the initiators of the idea of uniting the Bulgarian cultural centers outside Bulgaria. President of the Confederation of Bulgarian cultural organizations and actors abroad (2021-2023). Vice President of the League of Bulgarian Writers in the USA and around the world.
