Kevin Macdonald’s film (The Last King of Scotland, State of Play) is all about guilt and innocence, and how confused those categories are in war. The film revolves around an inmate held captive in Guantanamo Bay who was repeatedly interrogated and tortured there for years without charge. Until one day a defense attorney and her assistant take the case in hand and search for the truth. The script came from Michael Bronner.
