In Plouvorn, the magic of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games is already there. And this since the year 2022. The event, as important as it is from a sporting point of view, goes far beyond the boundaries of performance. The organizers have launched Dantean logistics with the hope of welcoming the athletes and the public in the best conditions next summer. Behind the scenes, the preparation for the Olympiad fills the order forms of hundreds of French companies.
In this little game, Guillerm habitat contributes to the Olympic building. The Plouverne company won two major contracts worth a total amount estimated at €800,000. The company specializing in the construction of houses and prefabricated concrete structures had the task of designing pieces which will adorn, next summer, the accommodation of athletes and journalists from the competition. “We manufactured white concrete strips for three buildings in the media village and gray concrete panels for the athletes’ village,” explains Maxime Guillerm, co-manager of the company.

Less than 200 days before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the projects are entering their final phase or are already finalized. A boon that the Guillerm group seized in time: “The Olympics boosted the construction sector for two years and we took advantage of it,” believes the entrepreneur. From now on, we are entering a recession phase where construction sites are ending, cranes are being uninstalled and site development will accelerate. »

He doesn’t let go of the word straight away. But the fact that his team of 150 employees is participating, on its own scale, in preparing for the next Olympics represents “a source of pride” for Maxime Guillerm. In 2018, the company he co-directs, alongside his brother Romain, (since the retirement of their father Alain in 2020), had already produced guardrails for the Philippe-Chatrier central court at the Roland stadium -Garros. This time the flavor is different. It smells like the international elite of around sixty disciplines.
Football above all
In his office, located on the first floor of the Guillerm habitat headquarters, the kid from Plouvorn who became a business manager is constantly surrounded by sporting references: statuettes of players from Stade Brestois, a history of the daily newspaper L’Équipe or even a cliché of him kicking off the Brest-Paris-SG meeting, in August 2021. A specific attraction to football which is not insignificant. Firstly because the Finisterian is co-president of the Avant-Garde de Plouvorn club (Regional 1). But above all because one of his maternal uncles, Yvon Le Roux, was European champion in 1984 with the French team. The international, born in Plouvorn, wore the blue tunic 28 times and played as a defender for several clubs in France (Brest Armorique FC, AS Monaco, FC Nantes, Olympique de Marseille, Paris-SG).
Moreover, Maxime Guillerm barely hides it, his heart leans “more for the Champions League than for the Olympic Games”. Which will not prevent him, on July 26, from keeping an eye on the launch of the festivities in Paris. Until then, the Plouvornéen will attend, next April, the Real Madrid-FC Barcelona clasico in the legendary Santiago Bernabeu venue. It’s hard to turn your back on your first love.
