Guild Wars Publisher NCSoft Releases Third-Person Sci-Fi MMO – Games – News

South Korean NCSoft has announced a new game in a genre the company isn’t known for: a shooter. Also, the game is an MMO and an open world game, which is right up the street for these South Koreans.

The game is called LLL, but the company also refers to it as the Trailblazer Project. The game also becomes an alternate history science fiction game, where a past event has had a major impact on the future in which the game takes place.

The game world must cover 30 square kilometers, which consist of areas that are “seamlessly” connected to each other. It’s not entirely clear if that means there are no loading screens between areas. In addition, the game world features “a devastated Seoul and the Byzantine Empire of the 10th century and the 23rd century merged into the same lore‘.

NCSoft also shared gameplay and a developer interview, both in video and text form. The game is expected to be released in 2024 for PC and “console”. NCSoft is also known for Lineage, City of Heroes, and Guild Wars, among others. The company is also rumored to be working on a game set in the Horizon: Zero Dawn universe.
