Guided tours of environmental education | Radio Medina

The Department of the Environment, of the Medina del Campo City Council, will offer the next months three environmental itineraries to discover nature in the urban area itself and two natural places in our closest environment. These activities are part of the II Environmental Education Strategy of Castilla y León. The Junta de Castilla y León co-finances this activity.

The routes will be carried out during the months of June and July, and are designed for all audiences, so that the maximum number of interested people can participate. The participants together with the monitor will discover the biodiversity of the places they will visit and also their cultural values.

On Thursdays the itinerary of the Urban Center will be carried out: You will walk along the banks of the Zapardiel river from the Versalles promenade to the Villa de las Ferias park, where participants will discover the plant species, the river’s environmental problems and the cultural heritage. Another of the itineraries is the one dedicated to GR239 Camino de Santiago de Levante in it they will learn the different ecosystems that converge in the same valley of the Zapardiel, the dehesa and the historical and cultural importance of the road, this will take place on Saturdays. Y the third itinerary destined to know the importance of the livestock routes in Medina del Campo through the Cordel de Peñaranda (Cañada de Extremadura) and the pine forest as an ecosystem. The latter will be held on Sundays. All itineraries will depart at 9.30 a.m. and will last approximately two hours, in the first case, and three and a half hours in the remaining two.

The number of participants per group will depend on the level of alert and health recommendations made by the Junta de Castilla y León. All those interested in participating must make their registration by email: [email protected]. This Thursday the first itinerary was developed to the satisfaction of the participants.
