Box (almost) full! The Amicale for the voluntary blood donation of Gueugnon and the surrounding area recorded a beautiful collection this Tuesday morning at the municipal center. Out of 100 appointments offered online, 94 were honored. Among them were five new donors.
Young Picard, Lucile Scholaert notably participated in this collection. Aged 23, she is a universal blood donor, that is to say of the O negative group. She already has 10 donations to her list. “I am on vacation with my sister Coline, in Vendenesse-sur-Arroux, and I saw the collection posters at the entrance to the town of Gueugnon. I talked about it with a friend, Tristan Van Butsele, 24, student, and my sister. They both decided to accompany me to offer in turn a first donation. “
In the vast majority of cases, anyone vaccinated against Covid-19 can donate blood after the injection, without any postponement period to be observed. However, conditions remain: symptoms such as fever, body aches or fatigue should not be present. In the case of vaccination abroad or as part of a vaccine trial, a deadline must be observed before donating blood.
