Guests of Tukuma, Metta footballers triumph over their opponent

The first goal was scored in the second half of the second half, when in the 70th minute, after Usman Sov’s pass, Kristofers Rekis masterfully turned around his axis in the penalty area and sent the ball into the goal, making it 1-0 for “Metta”. A couple of minutes later, after a pass by Maksim Sidorov, Faust Steponavičs made it 1:1 from close range.

When there were five minutes left until the end of the regular time, Zurabs Ruhadze gave Rigas the lead – 2:1 with a beautiful shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Both goal scorers of the “Metta” team entered the game in the second half, coming on as a substitute.

In the final match of the round, Ķekava’s “Auda” and the champion “Valmiera” will meet on the field of “Mežaparks SV”.

In the first three games of the third round on Saturday, “Daugavpils” beat Salaspils “Super Nova” players 3:0 (1:0) at home, “Riga” beat “Liepaja” 3:0 (3:0) away, and “Jelgava” at home lost 0:2 (0:1) to the bronze medalist RFS, who celebrated the first victory in three games.

“Riga” is at the top of the tournament table with seven points scored in three games, “Auda” has six points in two games, RFS has five points in three matches, while “Liepāja” and “Metta” who have played two games have three points each, as well as for “Super Nova”, “Jelgava”, “Tukums 2000″/”Telms” and “Daugavpils” unit, which played three matches. Champion “Valmiera” has one point in two games.

In the previous season, for the first time in history, Valmiers became the champions, “Riga” won the silver, and “RFS” won the bronze, while “Auda” won the Latvian Cup.

The champion will be determined after 36 rounds of matches, with each team meeting each other four times. A total of 180 games will be held.

The 2023 season is significant in that the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system is being used for the first time in Latvia.
