“Guest Room” by Peter Turini on the stage of the “Vazrazhdane” theater – 2024-05-04 09:57:57

/ world today news/ The performance of “Vazrazhdane” theater examines the theme of loneliness, the lack of love and the impossibility of finding a compensatory means for it.

The performance “Guest Room” comes face to face with the theme of loneliness. The new premiere title of the theater “Vazrazhdane” looks at the decay of synthetics in feelings, in the lack of love and shares that artificially fed human needs have no lasting life, no archetype to step on. Each character in this play builds his own mini artificial world, like the decay of living particles.

The characters of the premiere performance of the “Vazrazhdane” theater are four, but in fact this theater project accommodates each of us in the “Guest Room”.

“A man and a woman, thrown into the territory of loneliness, have been building, each for themselves, illusory worlds for years in their desire to compensate for the unbearable lack of human closeness. To bring meaning to their lives and hold on to it at all costs until the inevitable end. By accident, a guest arrives in their home, another, foreign, different, carrying his own world, his own search for a way out of loneliness – no man’s land as an abyss of living. For a short time, the supposedly built worlds fall apart and surface – words, a smile, touch, warmth, home, love. But something is out of place, something else is missing. And all this happens in a small apartment at Hausfeldziedlung 23/5/1, 22nd district, Vienna, Austria. And the world? – “The world? The world has been burning for quite some time already!”- shares the director, Zafir Rajab, about his reading of the play.

Zhana Rasheva’s Herta Zamanika lives among installations that imitate home, comfort and caress. Gustle Knapp, a reincarnation of Svejen Mladenov, and Herta sink into a synthetic relationship in which their world is slowly and surely falling apart. In the role of Samir Nablisi is the talented young artist, Boyan Feradzhiev. In the role of Sister Judith is the actress Vittoria Nikolova, nominated for the Asker 2021 award in the rising star category.

Zafir Rajab graduated from NATFIZ “Krastyo Sarafov” in 2012 in the class of Prof. Stefan Danailov. He made his debut in 2010 with the role of Dubois in “The Misanthrope” by Moliere. Since 2013, he has been part of the troupe of the Ivan Vazov National Theater. In 2020, he decided to pursue a master’s degree at NATFIZ “Krastyo Sarafov” in the specialty “Directing in the performing arts” with a teaching team composed of: Prof. Plamen Markov, Assoc. Dr. Petar Kaukov and Yavor Gardev. He shared that his choice of a new role stems from the need to add something more of himself to theater art.

The author of The Guest Room, Peter Turini is primarily interested in the problems of social and racial minorities, the vulnerable young generation and the neglected elderly. The subject of refugees in the director’s reading is of a very secondary nature. The performance of the “Vazrazhdane” theater examines the theme of loneliness, the lack of love and the impossibility of finding a compensatory means for it, going deep into the interpersonal relationships of the characters.

The premiere of “Guest Room” is on May 28 at 7 p.m.

Next dates June 13 and 29.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office of the “Vazrazhdane” theater, as well as online at
