Former Cruzeiro midfielder, Leandro Guerreiro recalled in an interview the great moments he lived with the three-time Brazilian champion team in 2013. According to the former player, the duels in training were so intense that, in many moments, the team considered the substitute to win in collectives.
Hired by Raposa in 2011, Leandro played 119 games and scored four goals in his three seasons at the club. During this period he won two titles: the 2011 Mineiro Championship and the 2013 Brasileirão.
“We practically had two teams. The A team, the starter, and the reserve, which was as good as the starter. So much so that during the collectives at Toca, the B team, considered a reserve, beat the A team. the A team. It was a very healthy dispute between the players. This competition was essential and made us get where we are”, said Guerreiro to the board Where are you?do super sports.
After a turbulent first year at Cruzeiro, which almost culminated in the team’s relegation to Série B, and an apathetic second season without titles, the player saw the team improve a lot in terms of performance after the arrival of coach Marcelo Oliveira and several new reinforcements to 2013.

“The atmosphere was so healthy among the group, even those on the bench cheered for those on the inside. And the guy on the inside knew that he had to give everything, play well, because if he let the outsider in, he would lose the position,” he said.
That year, Cruzeiro won the Brazilian Championship with 76 points, 11 more than second-placed Grêmio. There were 23 wins, seven draws and eight losses in 38 games. Until today, that is the only team that has beaten all opponents in an edition of the competition in running points.
“Of course, in a title there will be some pieces that will stand out more, which is normal, as was Everton Ribeiro, Goulart, Nilton, but putting everyone together in the cake, everyone was a highlight. In this, the group really closed. ‘We are going to win, to be champions, everyone is going to win together’, concluded Leandro Guerreiro.
