Guatemala. From January to April, the Guatemalan Migration Institute rejected 4,651 foreigners who were identified by the National Civil Police in different parts of Guatemalan territory.
These people entered the country irregularly in breach of the entry requirements established in the Migration Code; most were rejected by land at the border posts of Agua Caliente and El Cinchado.
The number of foreigners and their nationalities with the highest rejection rate is 2,089 Venezuelans, 846 Haitians, 447 Ecuadorians, 392 Hondurans, 217 Hindus, 169 Chinese, 125 Colombians, 57 Brazilians, 52 Pakistanis; the rest being registered nationalities with less than 50 rejections.
The Guatemalan Institute of Migration will continue to regularize the migratory situation in the country, with the accompaniment of the National Civil Police and the Ministry of Defense.
