Brazil will by all accounts change the national team captain after the Qatar World Cup 2022. Yesterday, Friday, Marca reported that Pep Guardiola is the Brazilian Football Federation’s first choice.
The newspaper also stated that the union will be ready to pay big money to join Guardiola. It should be around almost 125 million kronor a year, which, however, is far less than the 200-million salary he is said to have today.
Now the Manchester City coach has given his view on the rumor.
– I have a contract here. I’m so happy here. Now is not the time (to comment on the details). I do not know where it comes from, says Guardiola according to the Daily Mirror, and gives his view on Brazil’s national team:
– It is a fantastic national team. Brazil is always a strong candidate or favorite. They have always been and will always be.
Pep Guardiola, whose contract with City extends over the 2023 season, has previously said that his next step in his coaching career is to take over a national team. When it will be remains to be seen.
