Guardiola Makes History: Becomes First Manager to Win UEFA Super Cup with Three Different Teams

By winning the UEFA Super Cup (Man City beat Sevilla on penalties), Pep Guardiola became the first manager to do so with three different sides. Prior to that, the Spaniard took the trophy with Barcelona (in 2009 and 2011 in matches against Shakhtar and Porto, respectively) and with Bayern (2013) against Chelsea.

Pep also once triumphed in the Super Cup as a player – in 1992, Barcelona beat him in the Werder Bremen trophy match.

With two teams, Carlo Ancelotti (with AC Milan in 2003 and 2007 and with Real Madrid in 2014 and 2022), Alex Ferguson (Aberdeen 1983, Manchester United 1991) and Louis van Gaal (with ” Ajax in 1995 and Barcelona in 1997).
