Manchester –
Pep Guardiola Haven’t given the trophy yet Liga Champions for Manchester City. Maybe Guardiola is not able to do it at City.
Guardiola’s City again have to harbor a desire to win the Champions League. They were eliminated in the semifinals this season after being stopped by Real Madrid 5-6 on aggregate.
City, which was 5-3 on aggregate until the 90th minute, was forced to play extra time because Madrid scored two goals through Rodrygo. Karim Benzema’s penalty at the start of 2×15 minutes of extra time ensured City were eliminated.
Of course this result is very disappointing for City and Guardiola who hopes a lot to win the Champions League, after failing in last year’s final. Moreover, City has the capital with its current squad.
However, fate said otherwise and City will have to try again next season. Likewise, Guardiola is looking for his third Champions League trophy or his first since 2011 with Barcelona.
Guardiola’s experience in the Champions League was the reason why City signed him in 2016. Guardiola also apologized because he had not been able to give the trophy.
“I think the people of Abu Dhabi bought this club not just to win the Champions League, but to wipe out all the titles and compete until the end of the season,” he said. Pep Guardiola as quoted ESPN.
“We really want to win the Champions League. Maybe I am not good enough to help this team make it happen. Nobody knows what will happen to other players or managers,” he continued.
“For us, it’s an honor to be able to compete in all the competitions. I know there are some people who don’t appreciate what the club is doing, maybe it’s not good enough, but for me it’s amazing when we can reach the semi-finals of the Champions League again after last season. .”
