The third part of Guardians of the Galaxy is in cinemas from today. While many other recent Marvel films have received a lukewarm reception, the reviewers are now more cheerful. The superhero film by director James Gunn, in which this time the raccoon Rocket is central, can count on a shower of stars.

De Guardians of the Galaxy worden op hun planeet Knowhere aangevallen, waarbij wasbeer Rocket (Bradley Cooper) ernstig gewond raakt. De vriendengroep met onder anderen Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Drax (David Bautista) en Groot (Vin Diesel) onderneemt een missie om Rocket te redden.

It AD speaks of the “finest Marvel film in years”. “The New (and Allegedly Last) Guardians of the Galaxy gives wings to the machine, which still spews out about three titles a year. Not only does the film look flawless. The characters, from Peter Quill, aka Starlord, who is addicted to his Walkman, to the walking tree stump Groot, are also more than dolls who are supposed to boost the sale of cuddly toys and key chains.”
