Breakthrough in the talks in Kyiv?
As the British newspaper “Guardian” reports, Great Britain allows Ukraine to use its long-range missiles to attack Russian territory.
According to the report, government sources confirmed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (46) had been successful in his talks with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken (62) and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy (52). The British had decided to allow the use of Storm Shadow cruise missiles on targets deep inside Russia.

However, this is not expected to be announced at the meeting between British Prime Minister Keir Starmer (62) and US President Joe Biden (81) in Washington DC.
According to the report, the US is also prepared to reconsider its restrictions on the use of long-range weapons. According to Blinken, the US has been prepared “from day one” to adapt its policy to the changed situation on the battlefield in Ukraine. “We will continue to do so,” he stressed.
At a meeting of the Ukraine Contact Group last Friday, Zelensky again called for permission to use Western long-range weapons to attack targets on Russian territory. On Wednesday, after talks with Blinken and Lammy, he said: “It is important that the Ukrainian arguments are heard.”

His Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha (49) also appealed to the allies: “It is important to lift all restrictions on the use of American and British weapons against legitimate military targets in Russia.”
Kiev wants to use the missiles to destroy military targets in the Russian hinterland. The talks also focused on a second peace summit and the steps needed to make the meeting effective. At the first summit in Switzerland in June, Russia’s participation was not desired. There is talk that Russia could be invited to the next summit. The leadership in Moscow has always stressed that peace cannot be negotiated without Russia’s participation.
