TURKEY. The Turkish leasing company Garanti BBVA Leasing will benefit from a $ 25 million (€ 22.20 million) line of credit dedicated to climate finance. Loaned by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (Berd), it will be on-lent to local businesses investing in greater sustainability.
This credit line is part of the Turkey sustainable energy financing facility / TurSEFF, developed in 2010 by the Berd and supported by the European Union and the Turkish Ministry of the Treasury and finances. The program also provides free technical assistance to businesses. A team of national and foreign experts guides investors in their choices and the development of their sustainable energy projects, then prepares loan applications.
