The final budget is close to 7 million euros

The new fire station in Guadalajara will be one of the largest in Castilla La Mancha and also one of the most expensive. Last year, in the month of June, they began to look for a company that would build it. The idea was to pay 3.1 million euros for the first phase of the project and 1.8 million euros for the second.. A company was sought for the first phase but no one was interested in doing the work. Economic instability and the constant rise in the price of materials meant that the contest will be deserted.

Now the Guadalajara city council has put the work out for tender again and has updated the prices. The contract file has just been approved by the Local Government Board, which has updated the price to almost 7 million euros, 2.5 million more than originally planned.

The new park, which is located on Avenida de Francia, will have garages for up to 20 vehicles and one of the highest maneuvering towers. The main facility will have two floors on the surface and one underground, with 2,500 square meters built on a plot of 11,000 meters.

In the first phase, which is the one that is contracted now, the main building will be built. For the second will be the maneuvering tower, the garages and the kennel.

The works, once started, will take about fourteen months to complete.
