GTN will close the “Afuera Fest” with Milena Warthon

The Gran Teatro Nacional will present on Tuesday, April 4, at 7:30 p.m., on the esplanade of the Ministry of Culture, the last date of the Afuera Fest 2023 with the stellar participation of Milena Warthon, winner of the Gaviota de Plata in the recent edition of the Viña del Mar Festival.

The Andean pop star confirmed his presence — after his concert scheduled for March 10 was canceled due to heavy rain — and promised to perform the best of his repertoire. The end of the party of Afuera Fest 2023 will take place on the esplanade of the Ministry of Culture (Av. Javier Prado Este 2465, San Borja), a space with a greater capacity located a few meters from La Cultura station at the intersection with Av. Aviación .

Thinking of including thousands of people -without exception- in its artistic programming, the Gran Teatro Nacional is in a period of innovation looking for new ways for all Peruvians to enjoy music. It is for this reason that the festival’s commitment includes simultaneous interpretation in Peruvian Sign Language (LSP), so that members of the deaf community –with hearing loss and hearing loss– have a pleasant experience. To fully carry out this task, the GTN has summoned Moisés Piscoya, a renowned LSP interpreter, activist and communicator.

Among the songs that will be part of the show are “La nena”, “Agua de mar”, “Ojos azules”, “Hoy me iré”, “Esta soy yo”, “Maravilloso” (homage to Machu Picchu), “Volvió a beat” and the popular “Warmisitay”, a theme that the artist presented at the Viña del Mar Festival (Chile) with a contagious choreography that managed to dominate the so-called “Monster of Quinta Vergara”. Added to this list of hits are the personal versions of “Valicha”, a composition by Miguel Hurtado Delgado; and “Luck” by Shakira.

Milena Warthon was born in Lima, to an Apurimeño father and an Ancashino mother. Her Andean origins are, precisely, a unique inspiration when she creates her own compositions. She started professionally in music at the age of 17 and after finishing her school stage she participated in singing reality shows. During the pandemic, she spread her songs on social networks, mainly on Tik Tok, where she registers almost two and a half million followers.

Two years ago he released his compilation album Mashup peruano, material that contains classics such as “Cholo soy” by Luis Abanto Morales, “Cariñito” by Ángel Aníbal Rosado (founder of Los Hijos del Sol), “Contigo Perú” by Augusto Polo Campos, and “Take out your hands” by the Chinchano teacher Juan Chumbiauca.

In this fourth edition of the Afuera Fest, a cycle of free outdoor concerts, the groups Olaya Sound System, La Imperial, ZAV and the singer Farik Grippa participated, summoning more than 2,500 people. This Friday, March 31, at 7:30 p.m., the penultimate date with the Acarey Septet will take place on the terrace of the Gran Teatro Nacional.

To be part of this great concert, the public should only go to the esplanade of the Ministry of Culture, at the intersection of Javier Prado and Aviación avenues, starting at 6:00 pm in the afternoon. Admission will be completely free and free until the capacity is exhausted for more than three thousand people.
