The Revolution Team is working on a new generation remaster mod of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City using the GTA 5 RAGE engine. This mod aims to be as faithful as possible to the original game and preserve its art style. You can watch the trailer below.
GTA Vice City New Gen Edition will be a complete transfer of all missions from the original game to the RAGE engine. The mod is scheduled for release in 2025. So the moment we can play it is still a long way off.
The mod will feature an improved version of the city and weapons from the original Definitive Edition. All the cars from the Xbox version of the original are also present. In addition, all character models and NPCs are taken from the Xbox version. There are currently no plans to increase their polygonality, but all 3D models will have better textures.
All original radio stations will also be in this unofficial remaster. While the project will retain the cutscenes and style of the original, it will also offer improved particle effects and some lighting upgrades.
Overall, this will be a Vice City remaster faithful to the original. And since this is a mod for GTA 5, we can assume that Take-Two will not block it.
