The Grand Theft Auto game series is known not only for its huge popularity among players, but also for a number of controversies. These accompany basically all Rockstar studio titles. While most efforts to ban or restrict access to the game seem rather laughable, this time Rockstar managed to antagonize a group of its most loyal. And GTA with the number six at the end had not yet seen the light of day.
A thorn in the side of some fans is Rockstar’s decision to have a woman as one of the playable characters, and then also the recently established new course within the company, which aims to limit harsh humor at the expense of minorities and generally think more about the impact of game development decisions on civil society. Understandably, fans of incorrect humor and staunch opponents of political correctness do not like this, and they are not afraid to express it loudly on social networks.
For example, one Twitter user expressed his concern that “Grand Theft Auto 6 will cost nothing and be full of anti-conservative, anti-Republican and leftist ‘humor'”. But those who swear at the studio or make fun of the company’s new direction are no exception. “Rockstar: you will treat women and people of color with respect…while you run them over with a tank,” stated one of the glossators.

But not everyone likes the new direction. “My brother in Christ Rockstar created one of the best characters in gaming, Sadie Adler. With this, the creators proved that they can write elaborate female characters.” said a fan in defense of the developers. Considering that we have practically no official information about the game for now and it is still a long way from the release, it is rather premature to evaluate the quality.
