The online parts of the games Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) and Red Dead Redemption 2 are temporarily offline from 8 pm to 10 pm on Thursday evening, publisher Rockstar Games reports Twitter. The game publisher wants to commemorate the late black American George Floyd.
Floyd passed away last week after a cop held a knee to his neck for minutes. His death sparked a series of protests against racism and police brutality against the black people in Minneapolis and other American cities.
Rockstar Games draws attention to the Black Lives Matter movement with the action. “We hope you join us after the memorial to honor the many victims of racism in the US by supporting their families and supporting everyone who took to the streets,” the company said.
