Representatives of Russia in the negotiations on Donbass Boris Gryzlov and Dmitry Kozak referred to the Minsk agreements in response to a request to comment on calls made in Russia to recognize the Russian-occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions as “republics” and to begin officially supplying weapons to militants. Gryzlov said that only 11 deputies of the State Duma applied for the recognition of CADLO as “republics” – “not even a faction, but the Russian Federation emphasizes its commitment to the Minsk agreements as a whole.”
Kozak said that it is necessary to be guided by the Minsk agreements and resolve the conflict in accordance with them, and then “the grounds for providing support” to the militants will disappear: “There will be no need to arm and financially support.”
