Grubbin’s Pokémon Go Community Day: Increased Spawns, Shiny Variations, and Exclusive Bonuses

Grubbin’s Pokémon Go Community Day will take place on September 23 from 2 to 5 pm local time. During this event, players can expect a significant increase in the number of Grubbin spawns, with a higher chance of encountering shiny variations of this Pokémon. In addition to these increased appearances, there are several bonuses and advantages that players can take advantage of.

According to research by The Silph Road, the spawn rate of shiny Pokémon during Community Days is approximately 1 in every 24 encounters. This means that if players actively participate during the three-hour event, they should have a good chance of finding multiple shiny Grubbins.

To optimize the search for shiny Pokémon during the event, players can use Incense to attract Pokémon to their location. By quickly tapping each Grubbin they encounter, players can check to see if it is shiny and then proceed to catch it. It’s worth mentioning that previously tapped Grubbins will face the player, making it easier to keep track of already checked Pokémon.

During the event, evolving Grubbin into Charjabug and then into Vikavolt between 2 pm and 10 pm local time will grant both Pokémon the exclusive fast move Volt Switch. However, if players miss this window, they will likely have another chance to get the Volt Switch during a Community Day event in December. Alternatively, an Elite MT can be used to teach Vikavolt the move.

Vikavolt is a strong attacker in raids and gym battles, especially in PvE scenarios. He excels as a Bug-type attacker and performs adequately as an Electric-type attacker. For optimal moves, players can equip Vikavolt with Sting and X Scissors for bug-type moves, or Spark and Shock for electric-type moves. In PvP battles, Charjabug is most viable with the Volt Switch, Shock, and Scissor X moves.

To fully maximize Grubbin’s Community Day event, players can take advantage of the following bonuses: Tripled experience when catching Pokémon, Doubled candy when catching Pokémon, Doubled chances for level 31+ trainers to receive XL Candy, Duration of three hours for Incense and Lure Modules, Grubbin’s special photobomb feature on snapshots, an additional special trade, and a reduced Stardust cost for trades.

It is recommended that players activate a Lucky Egg and Incense during the event to maximize experience and encounters with powerful Grubbin. Players who can Mega Evolve into Beedrill, Pinsir, or Scizor will also receive additional Grubbin Candy for each capture.

Additionally, there will be special four-star raids available from 5 to 10 pm During these raids, upon completing the Charjabug raid, Grubbin will appear in a 300 meter radius around the gym for 30 minutes. It is important to note that these raids cannot be completed remotely. If players have not obtained the desired Grubbin during the regular spawn increase hours, raids provide another opportunity to find it.
