St. Paul (AP) – National ice hockey goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer defended the top position in the NHL with the Colorado Avalanche and also won the away game against the Minnesota Wild around Nico Sturm.
Colorado has now scored points in the past 15 games, making a streak longer than any other team in the National Hockey League. In the West Division of the NHL, the team is four points ahead of the Vegas Golden Knights. For the Wild it was the first defeat after eleven home wins in a row. As third, the chances of the playoffs are still good.
On the other hand, there was nothing to cheer about for the German professionals in the Canadian teams. The national players Leon Draisaitl and Dominik Kahun lost with the Edmonton Oilers to the Montreal Canadiens after extra time 2-3. Draisaitl had an assist that made it 2-0. Tim Stützle conceded a 3: 4 with the Ottawa Senators against the Winnipeg Jets.
