Can the higher number of applications in STEM fields at Stradiņš University be attributed to the growing demand for these fields in the job market
There has been an increase in the number of students interested in studying popular programs, including medicine and computer science. Both the University of Latvia and Riga Technical University are pleased with the level of interest this year, as the number of applications has grown by 7%. The most popular study programs at the University of Latvia continue to be computer systems, medicine, psychology, and law. Riga Technical University evaluates that there is a stable interest in engineering, construction, and information technology, which are highly demanded fields in the job market. There has also been a higher number of applications in STEM fields such as chemical technology, mechatronics, medical engineering, physics, and aviation transportation compared to last year.
