The head of Grove Street Games, the developer of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, has spoken negatively about the fact that the name of the studio was removed from the collection.
Earlier this week an update has been released for the collection on consoles and PCwhich added several improvements from the smartphone version to these versions. The update also brought the game’s opening screen in line with the mobile version. However, this does not refer to Grove Street Games, the developer of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, and now also not on consoles and PC.
Thomas Williamson, director of Grove Street Game, responded angrily on social media. “Interestingly, removing the main developers from the credits through an update is a screw-up move, especially when the update includes hundreds of improvements made by those developers.”
Players have now made some corrections to Williamson: the names of the developer and staff are still available in the game’s credits. The name of the studio has only disappeared from the intro screen. Along with the fact that many gamers believe that the original release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was marred by issues, most fans are anything but co -sympathize with the developer’s tweet.
In any case, the recently released update ensures, for example, the addition of a ‘Classic Lightning’ option. This gives color to the three games in the collection – Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas – to the original versions. People can choose whether to turn this on or off, but by default it’s on. Various other visual and gameplay improvements were also made. For example, players can now run while using shotguns, flamethrowers and assault rifles.
