Groupe Mutuel in turn launches cyber protection insurance for individuals, following its competitors Bâloise, Axa, La Mobilière, Zurich, and Allianz. This cover, named CyberProtect, is aimed at individuals as well as families.
Groupe Mutuel’s cyber protection services combine prevention and assistance services. Customers are invited to register their personal data on an online platform and to download a mobile application which monitors the use of this data. In the event of danger, such as a phishing attempt or the appearance of data on fraudulent sites, the insured is alerted by a notification.
The insurer also offers IT assistance by telephone available 7 days a week. Customers also benefit from legal protection in the event of disputes (identity theft, merchandise purchased online, undelivered, etc.). Groupe Mutuel undertakes to cover all legal costs, ransom demands up to 3,000 francs, as well as financial losses up to 10,000 francs. The assumption of the costs generated by a possible psychological support, following cybermobbing for example, amounts to 1000 francs, specifies the company. In addition, the insurer offers a service for the management of digital data after a death.
