Authorities are searching for suspects in a series of robberies at gunpoint in Manhattan, the New York City Police announced.
The first incident was reported on April 4, around 4:00 pm, when two suspects entered the business. Dry Cleaner located at 617 Lenox Avenue to ask for money while displaying a firearm, police said.
Once inside, authorities said, one of the alleged thieves took an amount of money from the cash register, the pocket of an 80-year-old customer and the wallet of a 40-year-old employee. Both suspects fled.
The second robbery was reported on Wednesday, April 20, at about 6:50 pm, when five suspects entered a warehouse located in 216 East 170 Street and once again they asked for money while threatening with a firearm, the uniformed woman affirmed.
Police said that on this occasion one of the suspects pointed the gun at the 41-year-old employee’s face, hit him and stole $300 from his pocket. The other suspect, police added, stole about $400 from the cash register and cell phone of another 30-year-old employee.
The other suspected robbers were guarding the place and then fled.
The most recent case occurred on Monday, April 25, at about 8:40 p.m., when two suspects entered another warehouse, located at 527 Lenox Avenue, and they asked for money.
One of them reportedly stole the 19-year-old employee’s cell phone while threatening him with a firearm and punched him several times in the head and face, authorities said. The other suspect, police said, stole $800 from the cash register. In total, about $2,000 in property was taken.
The victim was transported to the hospital for cuts, but in stable condition.
The alleged robbers are described as being between 20 and 25 years old.
