A video circulating showing it group of motorbikes which passes on the Jagorawi Toll Road. Police said the motorbike group was a convoy delivering the body of Habib Rizieq Shihab’s wife.
“That (incident) was on Sunday. The group was delivering the body of (Habib) Rizieq’s wife,” said Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Director Kombes Latief Usman when asked for confirmation, Wednesday (20/12/2023).
In the video circulating, you can see a police highway patrol car (PJR) and a Jasa Marga officer’s car chasing the motorbike. It appears that the PJR car’s siren was turned on while chasing the motorbikes. The incident is said to have occurred near the exit of the TMII Toll Gate leading to Bogor.
Larief said that the motorcyclists had been prosecuted. However, he did not specify what measures had been implemented.
“There was an incident, so we are taking action,” he said.
Separately, HRS lawyer, Aziz Yanuar, admitted that he already knew about this. According to him, it was a group of motorbikes have been warned.
“The information has been received and this matter has been subject to administrative action and a warning. We feel that this is appropriate and completed. And we respect the steps taken by the police which are in accordance with the provisions and act proportionally,” said Aziz.
As is known, HRS’s wife, Syarifah Fadlun binti Yahya, died on Saturday, December 16 2023, due to the illness she was suffering from. He is buried in Petamburan, Central Jakarta. Then the next day, Sunday, August 17 2023, the deceased’s body was sent to Megamendung, Bogor, for burial.
