Group of 250 whales stuck on Tasmania sandbar | Abroad

Several animals have already died, according to eyewitnesses. Most of the animals are in shallow water from which they cannot swim.

Teams of specialists and the right tools to rescue whales are on their way to the beach where the animals are trapped. How the beasts stranded off Tasmania is not known. It may have been a navigation error.

Pilot whales use echolocation, they see the world by making sounds and listening to the sound coming back. The animals are more often stranded off the coast of Australia and Tasmania.
