The Kunsthalle Luzern is showing a group exhibition with works by seven photographers and artists. In addition to images, there are also texts.
The artists Franca Pedrazzetti, Jacqueline Lipp, Claudia Walther, Maura Wittmer, Mirjam Steffen, Irène Hänni and Angela Staffelbach invited by the Kunsthalle have in common that they all have a connection to Central Switzerland.
In terms of content, they were given a free hand by the Kunsthalle. The only condition was that they address the relationship between image and text.
Curatorial experiment transfers phenomena of the digital world into an exhibition
In the fast-moving, digital world, a direct combination of image and text has become popular, explains the Kunsthalle the theme of the new exhibition, which can be seen until February 26th.
Photographic snapshots on Instagram and Snapchat would be provided with short slogans and published and then disappear again.
With “Through the Lens” the Kunsthalle would like to show possibilities of transferring such phenomena into the exhibition space.
The art gallery said it doesn’t matter how the connection between the two media takes place. She described the exhibition as a “curatorial experiment”.
