Group A standings changes 2023 U-20 Asian Cup changed after Indonesian U-20 National Team won 1-0 over Syria at Lokomotiv Stadium, Saturday (4/3).
Indonesia U-20 ended the second match of Group A with a 1-0 win over Syria. The only winning goal for Garuda Nusantara was scored by striker Hokky Caraka in the 34th minute.
In that match Syria slightly dominated compared to Indonesia. Syria also excels in creating opportunities.
However, the solid defense and the good appearance of goalkeeper Daffa Fasya kept Indonesia from conceding until the game was over.
The narrow victory over Syria was enough for Indonesia U-20 to maintain the opportunity to qualify for the quarter-finals of the U-20 Asian Cup.
Currently Indonesia is ranked third in Group A standings. Indonesia has the same value as Iraq, 3. In another match, Uzbekistan won 1-0 over Iraq at the Milliy Stadium.
Uzbekistan’s goal against Iraq was scored by Pulatkhuja Kolodorkhonov in the 17th minute.
Furthermore, the U-20 Indonesian National Team will play a decisive match against Uzbekistan, Tuesday (7/3).
This match will determine whether Shin Tae Yong’s team will qualify for the quarter-finals of the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup.
