Indonesian National team swallow defeat of Iraq in matchday First 2023 U-20 Asian Cup. Here are the Group A standings U-20 Asian Cup 2023 after Indonesia lost to Iraq.
The target of gaining points failed to be achieved. The U-20 Indonesian national team started with a 0-2 defeat. Iraq scored the first goal through Hayder Abdulkareem in the 28th minute. Iraq’s second goal occurred in the final seconds of the match through the feet of Mohammed Jameel.
The U-20 Indonesian national team failed to maximize their player advantage against Iraq, which had to play with 10 men since Charbeel Shamoon was sent off by the referee after bringing down Arkhan Fikri.
Even Indonesia also conceded a penalty, but fortunately Abdulrazaq Qasim’s execution was off the mark.
Meanwhile, in the other Group A match, hosts Uzbekistan won 2-0 over Syria. Abbosbek Fayzullaev brought Uzbekistan a 1-0 lead in the 37th minute. Zakaria Al Ramadan’s own goal in the 68th minute changed the score to 2-0.
Despite both winning 2-0, Uzbekistan excelled in disciplinary values regarding the red card received by Iraq and has the right to lead Group A standings as listed on the AFC website.
Under Uzbekistan and Iraq, which both collected wins with identical scores, there is Syria. While Indonesia is the temporary caretaker of Group A.
In the next match which will take place on Saturday (4/3), the U-20 Indonesian National Team will face Syria and Iraq against Uzbekistan.
