On the occasion of the Africa Montpellier Festival, an evening dedicated to music and cinema is organized on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 8:30 p.m. This evening will be opened by the immense Malian pianist Cheick Tidiane Seck.

The Cinémed Festival team then invites the public to discover the dynamism of African cinema and more specifically in the field of musical comedy through two films: Public transport by Senegalese director Dyana Gaye, a little gem that seems to have inspired Lalaland a lot! And The Great Night, a short film in which Sharon Hakim pays tribute to the heyday of Egyptian musical comedy.
