Newlyweds from Haskovo lost the ring on the sea. It had only a woman’s name and the date of the wedding – July, this year. After a serious search and with the help of the Burgas team of NOVA and the lifeguards on Smokinya beach, the ring has already been returned to them.
Hristo and Emily from Sofia became the Hristovi family on July 11 this year. In August they went to sea. But the groom’s ring fell into the water. He tried to hide this from Emily.
“At first I didn’t tell her. She saw that we were looking for something. My friends and I bought 2-3 pairs of glasses and dived for maybe 3-4 hours. Just when the sun was brightest, she started diving with us, but he didn’t know what we were looking for “, says the groom Hristo.

She was disappointed when she found out that only a month later on her husband’s finger, the ring was taken away from the sea. They left the coordinates of the rescuers, but did not believe that the sea would return it to them through a family from Haskovo.
“It’s as if someone just let her go. The day before, there was so much excitement, and I guess it had taken her. She was quite light. A lot of mussels were thrown along the shore “, Ivo Koychev remembers.
“On the inside, it said ‘Emily – July 11, 2021.’ Marusya Tsoneva.
After questioning other holidaymakers and rescuers, the family from Haskovo contacted the NOVA team and so we helped them reach Hristo from Sofia.

“I thank these people very much because they really found a way to contact me and return the ring, not just take it home. These are very good people and I thank them very much, “said Hristo Todorov.
Hristo’s parents came to Smokinya beach to collect the wedding ring. The ring was found on August 31 – the day exactly a year ago Hristo proposed marriage to Emily. And it turns out that losing rings is something of a tradition in his family.
“More… maybe 25 years ago – I also lost my ring. This happened one winter and respectively in the spring my mother-in-law found the ring and returned it to me “, says Stoyanka Todorova, Hristo’s mother.
Now Hristo has decided to keep the lost ring as a family relic. He will wear the new one they ordered in the meantime.
