Due to the corona pandemic, the Gromaischeid carnival association had optimistically postponed its Violet Tuesday procession to June 18th, bearing in mind the successful summer carnival several years ago. Temperatures of over 30 degrees Celsius on Saturday afternoon also caused the number of spectators to melt.
Gromaischeid. The usual big rush didn’t happen, but there was so little advertising in advance that many people doubted whether the parade would even take place. In a shortened form and with a different route, around twenty numbers bravely marched through the village, led by the black and white musketeer corps Neuwied. The MFZ Irlich, the wind orchestra Maischeid and Stebach and the marching band Gromaischeid provided even more atmosphere.
Colorful foot groups belted out the spectators on the shaded areas in a good mood, Mschd helau! opposite. There were rainbow Tts, pink flamingos, rock ‘n’ roll fans, gardeners, sunny rain clouds, city soldiers, soccer players and other imaginative groups. The cute guardsmen of the local blue and white comets were well represented. The mood along the route was good and both the train participants and the spectators had fun and cheered each other on.
