GRIZZLYS WOLFSBURG – News

The Grizzlys Wolfsburg have filled the center’s open position: The 28-year-old Canadian Tyler Gaudet has received a one-year contract with the Lower Saxony and arrived in Wolfsburg on Monday.

The long and by no means easy search for a suitable candidate was successfully completed by the sporting management of the Grizzlys. With Tyler Gaudet, the Autostadt have signed an NHL experienced center forward. The left-shooter, who was born in Hamilton, Canada, played a total of 20 games in the best league in the world. In addition, the 1.91 meter tall center played a total of eight years in the American Hockey League (AHL). There he scored 55 goals and 101 assists in 398 games.

Gaudet was able to collect a very good 23 scorer points in the past and also shortened AHL season and was the second best scorer of his team with eleven hits and twelve assists, which he led as assistant captain on the ice.

Tyler Gaudet will receive jersey number 58 at the Grizzlys and will come to Wolfsburg with his newly wedded wife Danielle.

“The long wait for him was worth it, because it was not clear for a long time whether he would make the move to Europe now. Therefore, we are now very happy that we were able to complete the search for a suitable candidate for this important position in the storm center with a very high quality. The fact that he will meet two former teammates, Darren Archibald and Trevor Mingoia, certainly helped in his decision. Our former striker Greg Moore, who is now head coach of the Toronto Marlies, also said very positive things about him. Tyler is a very complete player who will fit very well into our team in terms of both sport and character. At 28, he is in the prime ice hockey age, is considered a hard worker and a very good face-off player who plays with a lot of responsibility in all zones. In the last season in particular, he showed that he knows how to set accents on the offensive when he gets a more offensive role, ”said managing director and sports director Karl-Heinz Fliegauf.
