“The 5 Star Movement, remember? The one that started out like a meteorite ready to sweep everything away, to overturn the tables and give a proper wake-up call to politics. An army of dreamers, turbo-charged ecologists, social justice warriors and defenders of the citizens; then, of course, along the way, we ended up in that magical labyrinth called government. Where, if you get distracted for a moment, you get lost in the corridors, trip on the red carpets and hit your head against the golden candelabras”. In his blog, Beppe Grillo, in a long post entitled: “Let’s take back our battles!”, launches the challenge to Giuseppe Conte ahead of the constituent assembly.
“Dear Beppe, I could suspend your contracts, your statements are incompatible with the M5S”. Enraged Conte responds to Grillo, here is the letter
Grillo continues: “And so our beautiful battles – those for the environment, for the citizens, for a world without privileges and with more justice – have been swallowed by the bureaucratic monster. The storm has become a bit of fog. And in the corridors of buildings, among the muffled rooms, our struggles began to lose their contours. They disappeared, invisible, among the pizzini of the rulers, they disappeared under the weight of backroom deals, until they ended up on the posters of the other parties, those who arrived with a smile. and they put their signature on it. ‘Look at these beautiful proposals!’, they said. And we were there thinking: ‘But weren’t they ours?'”.
The M5S founder adds: “And me with my blog as a bulwark! An oasis where ideas do not disperse, where futuristic projects have continued to float like spaceships waiting to land: the environment, energy, intelligence artificial, mobility, the circular economy, health. Serious, concrete projects that were not just words. Through these pages we tried to tell you about a different future, a little brighter, a little fairer”.
“And so I said to myself: why not relaunch them? One at a time, every week. We will make you rediscover – continues Grillo – everything we have already said, but that perhaps someone hasn’t understood well enough. Each project is a piece of that future which bears a name: 2050. I wanted to insert it there, on the symbol of the Movement, because I want us to remember to look forward”.
Grillo concludes: “These are real proposals, not fairy tales. They are things that, with a little courage, we can really do. And isn’t this the courage we need? Taking the past back into our hands, making it dialogue with the present and pushing it towards the future. Every step we take together will be a step closer to an Italy that perhaps you have never imagined, but which is already here, just waiting to be built. The time has come to take everything back. our dreams, that future that awaits us.”
