(Alliance News) – Terna Spa announced on Thursday that it has signed a €400 million loan agreement with the European Investment Bank to strengthen the efficiency and reliability of the national transmission grid.
“The measures, which will be carried out throughout Italy until 2026, aim to renew the existing infrastructure and replace it with the most modern solutions in terms of environmental sustainability, helping to significantly increase the resilience of the network to future extreme weather events increase,” the company said in a statement.
This loan, like previous EIB loans, has a maturity of around 22 years from the date of disbursement and provides for the disbursement of a single fixed interest tranche. “The loan, which is characterized by a longer duration and more competitive costs compared to financing on the market, is therefore part of Terna’s policy to optimize its financial structure and make it more efficient,” said the company.
Terna closed Thursday down 0.2% at EUR 8.08 per share.
