Gridhot.ID – Corona’s cases in the world still have not died down, Japan is now haunted by a virus bird flu.

This flu is found in a the farm chicken in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan.

Government Kagawa Prefecture has finally started the culling of as many as 330,000 individuals chicken after the outbreak bird flu highly confirmed pathogens appear in the region.

Hundreds of thousands of chickens were culled Thursday (5/11/2020) at a chicken farm for the first time in nearly three years.

Launching Kyodo, the Kagawa government instructed chicken farms within a 3 km radius from the infected location in Mitoyo not to move their poultry or eggs anywhere.
The local government also immediately checked whether the infection had occurred in other locations.

Farms within a 10 km radius are also prohibited from bringing chickens and eggs out of the area.

As of Wednesday (4/11/2020), farms infected with bird flu have reported a total of 3,800 chickens have died in four days.

These precautionary measures now affect a total of approximately 4.62 million chickens on 115 farms within a 10 km radius.

And, until Thursday morning there were no reports of other poultry deaths in the area.

The Kagawa government estimates it will take about 10 days to complete the mass extermination operation. They also asked the Self Defense Forces to help with the extermination process.

The last bird flu outbreak in Japan was recorded in January 2018 which also occurred in Kagawa Prefecture.

The Ministry of Agriculture said Japan would temporarily stop exporting chickens and eggs.

Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga instructed cabinet members to coordinate immediately to take preventive steps as quickly as possible.
He also asked breeders to be patient and vigilant while following government instructions.
