A couple of weeks ago we told you that Jesse Williams would leave Grey’s Anatomy after 12 years of playing Dr. Jackson Avery and since there is no deadline that is not met, the final episode of the actor in the series reached ABC (chain that airs the series in the United States), revealing the last moments of the character in the long-lived production and delivering, once again, a chapter capable of making fans cry, something that has become practically a constant in season 17. Of course, remember that from here there are spoilers about the series.
After the return of April Kepner (Sarah Drew), the new episode begins with Jackson entering the hospital with his resignation letter in hand. and visiting various characters who accompanied him during his stay there to say goodbye. First he goes with Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and with his stepfather, Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.), and the latter is not really surprised to hear it, the doctor reacts in the opposite way, even so, both characters have nothing but flattery for Avery and her growing up in the hospital.
Jo (Camilla Luddington) is the next to receive Jackson’s visit: “It turns out that you can change careers in the middle of the pandemic, says Jackson to her friend and continues:“ Thank you for being a good friend, especially when I needed it. .. sex is also worth a ‘thank you’ ”. She responds with thanks, especially because the doctor said goodbye in person, contrary to what happened with Alex Karex (Justin Chambers) who only left her a letter. After this moment there are scenes from the past with Jackson Avery and several of his other colleagues, all with the aim of moving the viewer by making a retrospective of the evolution of the doctor.

Finally, Jackson goes to Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), who is recovering favorably and is sent home accordingly; Avery confesses that he wants April and Harriet (Penelope Kapudija) to settle in and accompany him to change the world. Gray mentions that she has won the bet to be the last one standing. Later, the doctor takes the protagonist to the parking lot and takes her home. Of course, before leaving, Avery meets Thomas Koracick (Greg Germann) – who interestingly also left the show in this episode – and talks to him about the patients he lost during the pandemic., adding that he feels indebted to the victims and minority groups, for which he seeks to make a change; to this Jackson replies to meet him in Boston.
