After we wondered why this character still hasn’t returned to the season 16 of Grey’s Anatomy, we stay on the same theme by looking at the other characters who could make a reappearance in the series. We know that the end is approaching Grey’s Anatomy – even if for the moment there are no cancellations in sight – and it’s always an opportunity to bring back characters loved by fans. With its gigantic casting and an impressive turnover, it is not the possibilities which are missing but here are those which could easily be reinstated in the intrigues.
The first is obviously Alex, even if Justin Chambers is probably not ready to already return to the season 17 of Grey’s Anatomy. And who says Alex says Izzie, the mother of his children. The couple could return one last time in the series to please fans since the recent departure of Alex would make a visit to Meredith clearly logical or even expected. On the side of Izzie, it would depend a lot on the relationship between Katherine Heigl and the production of the series. The third character who could return without problem is April, Jackson’s ex with whom she had a daughter – and therefore to whom she is still linked.
The departure of April and Arizona was a shocking announcement for fans, but the series has everything it takes to keep them coming back for an episode. April is still in Jackson’s life thanks to their daughter, and Grey’s Anatomy could therefore choose to show it alongside his ex. As for Arizona and Callie, there is no guarantee that they got back together in New York, but to see Calzona United one last time before the end of the series would fill a lot of fans. Considering the links woven with Meredith, Bailey and the others over the seasons, a visit from Callie, Arizona and their daughter Sofia would be far from improbable.
In addition we all hope for Cristina’s return in the last episodes of the series since with Meredith, she is truly THE cult character of Grey’s Anatomy. Second half of the heroine whose series has the name, Cristina is as complex as it is endearing and seeing her again would be a real pleasure. Finally the last character who could easily return is Addison, who was part of the spin-off Private Practice. Impossible not to adore the surgeon who we all hated a little when he arrived in the series but who won us over without problems in the rest of his intrigue.
