– I think our laws protect the wrong things. I think our laws should exist to protect people’s well-being, and not companies’ rights to pollute the planet, says Greta Thunberg.
Day two of the action
The promotion started on Monday. According to the police, the activists have not received a permit for the demonstration, and the incident will lead to a report of violation of the public order law.
The activists voluntarily left the site on Monday morning, and returned Tuesday morning.
– The Riksdag and the people elected are of course a fundamental part of democracy, but so is the right to demonstrate, she says.
In a press release the group released on Monday, it is stated that the blockade was made to “make visible that people are dying and injured today as a result of climate disasters, war and unequal distribution of resources”.
The police: Seven activists have been reported
According to the Stockholm police, no one has been arrested at the moment. Seven people have been reported for disobeying order-keeping orders, when they refused to move after the police asked them to do so.
According to Anders Bryngelsson, press spokesperson for the Stockholm Police, some of the activists were taken into a police car for questioning, but they did not leave the scene in the police car.
