Climate activist Greta Thunberg will no longer go on school strike every Friday. After 251 weeks of strikes, she has finished school.
– When I started to strike in 2018, I never thought it could lead to anything. After striking every day for three weeks, we were a small group of children who decided to continue this every Friday. And we did, and that’s how Fridays for Future came to be, writes Thunberg Twitter.
Since 2018, Thunberg has become one of the world’s best-known climate activists. In addition to the school strikes, which became particularly widespread in 2019, she has participated in a number of other demonstrations and climate conferences.
However, Thunberg does not stop demonstrating.
– Those of us who can speak out have a duty to do so. To change everything we need everyone. I continue to demonstrate on Fridays, even though it is not technically a school strike. We simply have no choice but to do everything we can. The battle has just begun.
In the Twitter thread, Thunberg has a picture of herself wearing the traditional student cap that Swedish graduating students wear.
