A new place to live in the foothills of the Bastille. At dawn at the beginning of January, work was completed in this famous building in Grenoble.
The former Dolomieu geology institute had been abandoned for years, spoiling the postcard of the capital of the Alps. A mess that is now a thing of the past.
The Babel Community company has rehabilitated this building to make it a residence that combines workspaces and housing.
137 accommodations
With the opening of their 4th residence in France in Grenoble, Babel Community is importing an innovative concept. The 6,000 m² residence located on the Bastille has 137 apartments and 100 coworking workstations.
Benoit Jobert, co-founder of the company, talks about an overall investment of 16 million euros. A substantial sum which has made it possible to create a special place: “Our residence is made for people in transition since our clients stay between one and twelve months”, explains the co-founder.
The rates for living in the accommodations are included between 650 and 1300 euros per month and provide access to gyms, housekeeping, a concierge and wifi. For the time being, about sixty reservations have already been made.
A restaurant in mid-February
This hybrid building offers around a hundred coworking workstations, a gym, meeting rooms and soon… a rooftop restaurant. Benoit Jobert says he is very confident about the attendance of the place: “Babel Community was motivated by the dynamism of the city and the omnipresence of companies specializing in technology. »
Benoit Jobert tells Grenoble news that the establishment will open on February 15. This restaurant located on the top floor of the building offers a dazzling view of Grenoble and can accommodate up to 200 people, divided between the interior room and the terrace.
Note that the group is in the process of finalizing its recruitment and positions are still to be filled.
