During rehearsals for Trooping of the Colour, the annual parade in honor of the monarch’s birthday, several members of the Grenadier Guards (the elite unit of the British army) passed out on Saturday. Footage shows how the rest carry on as usual while one of them lies on the ground and is taken away on a stretcher.
Afterwards, Prince William expresses his gratitude to all soldiers who took part in the parade in the heat. “Difficult circumstances, but you all did very well,” he writes on social media.
On June 17, the official ceremony will take place and some 1,500 soldiers will take part in the procession to celebrate the birthday of the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom, King Charles. The real birthday of the monarch takes place on November 14.
