Steps Gregoria Mariska Tunjung keep moving forward steadily Australia Open 2022. He made it to the final after defeating the Chinese singles.
Facing seventh seeded Chinese, Han Yue, Gregoria successfully defeated her rival in a three match battle which took place on Court Two at the Quay Centre, Sydney, Australia on Saturday (19/11/2022).
The 2017 junior world champion won after three fierce battles. Gregoria beat Han, she trailed 18-21 in game one before winning the next two games 21-16, 21-14.
With this victory, Gregoria was able to win the 12th ranked badminton player.
In the two previous matches Gregoria has always lost. First in New Zealand 2018 lost 19-21, 16-21. Then at the 2022 Hylo Open with twin scores 19-21, 19-21.
Now, Gregoria’s head-to-head with Han Yue is 2-2 in the four meetings they played in the BWF tournament.
Not only that, Gregoria was also the only Indonesian team to reach the final.
Another representative, mixed doubles Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja failed to reach the final of the Australian Open after being defeated by Kim Won-ho/Jeong Na-eun.
