Gregg Wallace quits BBC One Eat Well for Less show after eight years E! News UK

He’s one of the club’s most beloved food stars, but Gregg Wallace has been forced to take a step back from one of his favorite roles because he’s got too much on his plate.

I can reveal that Gregg quit his hit BBC One Eat Well For Less show after eight years at the helm.

Gregg has presented the show since 2013 with Chris Bavin, but after his popularity exploded he had to step down.

He revealed, “I loved working on the show with Chris, but now is the time to hand the knife and fork to someone else to continue helping people eat well.”

It’s not hard to see why Gregg felt he needed to reduce his workload. It just wrapped up filming on MasterChef’s next installment with John Torode, which premieres this spring, and also features the celebrity and pro version of the format.

An insider said: “Gregg is extremely popular and in demand by all of the major broadcasters. Leaving Eat Well For Less was not an easy decision, but breaking free means he can focus on new projects once his current shows are no longer on the air.

“He finished filming on MasterChef just before Christmas and the casting has started on the next Celebrity MasterChef series. Gregg will start working on this in the next month. “

The insider added, “The MasterChef format alone keeps him so busy, but Gregg wants to make sure he keeps his schedule as free as possible so he can jump into new ventures without having to. worry about having too many in your agenda.
