He’s one of the club’s most beloved food stars, but Gregg Wallace has been forced to take a step back from one of his favorite roles because he’s got too much on his plate.
I can reveal that Gregg quit his hit BBC One Eat Well For Less show after eight years at the helm.
Gregg has presented the show since 2013 with Chris Bavin, but after his popularity exploded he had to step down.
He revealed, “I loved working on the show with Chris, but now is the time to hand the knife and fork to someone else to continue helping people eat well.”
It’s not hard to see why Gregg felt he needed to reduce his workload. It just wrapped up filming on MasterChef’s next installment with John Torode, which premieres this spring, and also features the celebrity and pro version of the format.
On top of that, light up your box and you’ll see more of Gregg than ever before, as he’s at the forefront of BBC Two’s Inside The Factory as well as his South Africa With Gregg Wallace series on ITV.
An insider said: “Gregg is extremely popular and in demand by all of the major broadcasters. Leaving Eat Well For Less was not an easy decision, but breaking free means he can focus on new projects once his current shows are no longer on the air.
“He finished filming on MasterChef just before Christmas and the casting has started on the next Celebrity MasterChef series. Gregg will start working on this in the next month. “
The insider added, “The MasterChef format alone keeps him so busy, but Gregg wants to make sure he keeps his schedule as free as possible so he can jump into new ventures without having to. worry about having too many in your agenda. It will be a very exciting year for Gregg and he can’t wait to try new things.
Fans of the TV star will be able to see him even more from today as he begins hosting a new fitness segment on The Jeremy Vine Show.
Gregg, who lost four stones through diet and exercise, will show viewers how to stay active while staying at home.
If he’s not careful, Gregg will end up being even busier than before.
STARS IN SKY’S NEW GALAXY
Eleanor Tomlinson of POLDARK and Craig Parkinson of Line Of Duty seem unrecognizable as Candy and Dr Lee in the new Intergalactic series.
Sky’s eight-part prison escape drama, which imagines life “above ground”, is set for Sky One and NOW TV later this year.
Intergalactic tells the story of intrepid young cop and space pilot Ash Harper (played by Savannah Steyn), who is wrongly convicted of a treacherous crime and exiled to a remote prison colony.
The show, written by award-winning writer Julie Gearey, has a star cast including Thomas Turgoose of This Is England, Sharon Duncan-Brewster of Sex Education and Natasha O’Keeffe of Peaky Blinders.
Looks like it should be out of this world. . .

The TV host, whose new BBC2 series Incredible Journeys started last night, says he would sign up in an instant if the ITV show were to hit.
Simon said, “Bring it! I was never asked, but I would be up for it. I like to be pushed out of my comfort zone, that’s the main thing.
He would definitely have an advantage, especially in food trials, given that he has dined on strange things during his travels.
Simon said, “I ate zebu penis soup in Madagascar, which was very strange, and a plate of steaming buffalo poo, in the mountains between Laos and Vietnam.
